The Role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the role will be an integral part of the site planning and production team and will be responsible for:

  • Lead the planning, material supply interface with internal and external supply chain
  • Lead the plant SIOP process to enable effective production demand and supply planning, understanding the current plant and subcontract demands, WIP and schedule adherence.
  • Lead the Planning SOX compliance activity
  • Be the customer advocate for the organisation

 

The focus of the role will be to plan and schedule the Manufacturing Plant from customer order through to dispatch by leading a planning and logistics function activity across the business functions.

  • Safety - Is accountable for ensuring HSE legislative requirements are adhered to during all activities within the department
  • Quality - Is responsible for regulatory and legislative customer and internal requirements are adhered to at dispatch
  • Throughput – Accountable for the planning & scheduling of material to adhere and report on the daily TOC Lines, Pieces and On-Time to Schedule to customers
  • Daily work plans – Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), including training and defining competence and performance standards for the department. Develop standard process for assessing functional competence and performance measurement.
  • Frequent follow up – Must monitor implemented improvements to ensure effectiveness

 

Duties

  • Responsible for material planning processes for the plant - responsible for all material on site from customer order placement through to shipments, level loaded to achieve daily targets, drive and maintain on time deliveries in full.
  • Responsible for reporting on schedule adherence and dock performance from manufacturing plan
  • Will lead the commitment acceptance process for the plant
  • Responsible for ensuring the plan and schedule will support the agreed customer demand and will achieve the committed business budget revenue plans
  • Will lead the creation of production plans quarterly/monthly using work to lists for operations and ensuring that the plan is regularly reviewed to reflect the product mix and yield losses, customer requirements
  • Continuously improve planning & scheduling of material, with the necessary planning data integrity and will be responsible for all aspects of lead time reduction & improve product flow throughout the plant
  • Effectively support the SIOP process to ensure that the demand and supply throughout the Supply Chain, including support sub-contract activities is balanced and achievable.
  • Accountable for all training and development for the department and the competency development of a deputy
  • Accountable for all inventory management, WIP, Static Inventory and raw material, optimising inventory to support the business productivity flow and on time delivery to customer

 

The Person

Must be either of graduate calibre with management diploma and/or have equivalent experience within a management role

  • Will have working knowledge of financial regulatory framework (Sarbanes Oxley), AS9100, ISO17025, ISO9001
  • Experience of Master Scheduling and a knowledge of raw materials planning would be advantageous
  • 5 years plus experience in a planning role, ideally with management responsibility in a manufacturing environment
